The Rio Chama is best run in three day formats. 33 miles of spectacular scenery as the river courses and cuts it way through limestone and sandstone formations. The river hides many treasures within its walls; ancient Indian ruins, dinosaur tracks preserved in Jurassic era mud flats, old homestead ranches, excellent trout fishing in the upper reaches and spectacular vistas are just a few of the things to see.

All of the camps we use are spectacular places to visit with excellent hiking and exploration opportunities. Guests have the option of paddling inflatable kayaks along side the rafts or just riding in the boats. Most Rio Chama trips are run using oar boats but paddle boats may be requested.

Minimum age for the three day Rio Chama is 5 y/o; children should be adventurous and have some previous outdoor experiences.

Groups of 4 or more may request Custom dates, subject to availability.
